The power button cover is broken.

    Problem:
  • If your lamp still turns on and off, but the plastic cover is broken, there is a simple fix for it.
  • It is important that it gets replaced to prevent water ingress that can damage the electronic components inside.
    Solution:
  • To replace the button you will need a few basic tools and a plastic button replacement part.
  • Follow the steps below:

Required tools

  • Screwdriver: Torx T5

  • Screwdriver: Torx T6

Step 1 - Unscrew lamp casing.

Using a Torx 6 screwdriver, carefully remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the case. 

 Screws are small and light, so make sure to place them in a safe spot to avoid losing them.

Step 2 - Open the plastic casing.

Carefully separate the two parts of the plastic casing. Make sure not to pull too fast as there is a battery cable still keeping the two parts together.

Step 3 - Pull battery out from bottom casing.

Gently pull out the battery. 


If the battery is locked very tight, pull firmly but with care not to damage the cables.

DO NOT use sharp edge tools to pull battery out.

Avoid using sharp tools such as pliers, which may damage or break the cables to the battery. This is a safety hazard!

Step 4 - Disconnect battery from electronics board.

The battery connector has 2 halves, 1 soldered to the board, and 1 attached to the battery cables. Using your fingers, gently pull the battery connector half. (Pulling the entire connector, might lead to breaking the solder 

You might find silicon glue around the connector; this is not hard to remove by simply pulling the connector away.

Step 5 - Unscrew electronics board.

Using a Torx screwdriver, remove the 2 screws from the board. One or both might be hidden behind the black foam piece.

Screws are small and light, so make sure to place them in a safe spot to avoid losing them.

Step 6 - Lift up electronics board

Using a knife or a flat head screwdriver, carefully pry up the electronics board, once you are able to see the edges of the board you can use your fingers to lift and rotate it to expose the underside. 

Be careful not to pull too far/hard as the board is soldered to 2 more wires underneath.

Step 6 - Remove damaged button cover.

Using a pointy tool, like a screwdriver, push from the top-down the remaining material from the damaged cover button and remove it from the underside of the casing top.

Step 7 - Install the new cover button.

Align the new cover button with the hole in the casing top, and push it down-up until the rim of the button is secured in place. 

Try pressing the button a couple of times to ensure it stays in place.

Step - 8 Reassemble the lamp

Following the steps 5-1 in reverse order, reassemble the lamp.
